Bill Gates was asked in an interview by BBC if it is a good idea to spend money on the Mars project. Gates answered that from his point of view it would be wiser to spend the money on vaccinations against measles. He also said that Musk is not yet a philanthropist for him. At the same time, he says that Musk has done a lot of good with Tesla.
Musk and Gates regularly got into disputes. In April, Musk personally asked if Gates was short-selling Tesla. In 2020, Gates bought a Porsche Taycan. One user asked why Gates didn't buy a Tesla, and Musk replied that his conversations with Gates were underwhelming.
