E-CAT CNC has introduced a groundbreaking CNC-enabled fiber laser machining controller called LaserCAT, which establishes a new standard for precision, versatility, and affordability. This innovative solution targets CNC machine builders looking to embrace EtherCAT and meet the evolving demands of the thermal cutting industry.

LaserCAT is based on Newfangled's MACH4 CNC controller, incorporating EtherCAT through IntervalZero's KINGSTAR fieldbus powered by EtherCAT. Operating as an all-software solution on an industrial PC, LaserCAT offers unparalleled flexibility not found in traditional laser controllers.

Its advanced technology enables the production of smaller components, cutting of harder materials with superior precision, achieving higher dimensional accuracy, supporting complex geometries, and enabling multi-operations within a single machine.

Brian Barker, CEO of Newfangled, expressed enthusiasm, stating, "LaserCAT revolutionizes the way CNC machine builders work and take advantage of advances and dramatic cost declines in laser cutting technology. Based on Mach4 CNC software, LaserCAT's open, PC-based architecture offers unparalleled flexibility and customization options, enabling manufacturers to adapt to changing market needs with ease."

A customer already utilizing Mach4 for plasma cutting has tested LaserCAT and is impressed with its capabilities. They hope to retrofit this new fiber laser controller directly onto an existing plasma cutting bed.

Affordability further sets LaserCAT apart from competitors. Its accessible price point ensures that CNC machine builders of all sizes can benefit from cutting-edge technology and advanced features.
