In the ever-evolving world of 3D printing, Ewikon, a leading expert in plastic processing, has taken a groundbreaking step. In a recent announcement, the company introduced its new automated thermal simulation, which takes the 3D printing process to a whole new level.


Already known for its natural full balancing and streamlined flow channel layout, Ewikon now offers a complimentary service. During the design phase, every Ewikon distribution system undergoes an automated thermal simulation. What sets this apart is that this simulation is conducted in the background without additional time investment from the designer.


This innovative simulation not only allows for the evaluation of the thermal homogeneity of the distribution block but also the thermal symmetry within the fully balanced melt channel guidance. Should deviations be detected, designers have the opportunity to make further optimizations, including the heating profile, the position of thermocouples, the number of control circuits, and the number and position of pressure pieces.


The added value for customers lies in a system that has been thoroughly thermally optimized during the design phase, without additional financial burdens. This optimization widens the processing window, especially for thermally sensitive materials, and minimizes unnecessary correction loops in complex systems.


Ewikon goes one step further and offers the Smart Control Assistance System, a digital solution for efficient monitoring of the 3D printing process. This system can be fully integrated into the connected injection molding production and captures and monitors process-relevant parameters of a production cell, including the hot runner system.


The centralized display of all captured parameters ensures clear monitoring. In addition, the Smart Control system offers features such as the optionally integratable Virtual Rheology function, allowing real-time calculation of shear rates and dwell times from shot to shot.


In the world of 3D printing, this innovation by Ewikon means not only increased efficiency and cost savings but also a significant improvement in terms of quality and consistency of printed products.
