Google's CEO, Sundar Pichai, is already looking forward to the opening of the new Product Development Center in Africa, which is scheduled to open later this year.

The goal is to understand how people on the continent use their smartphones and what challenges they face. Also, according to Google, smartphones and subscriptions are very expensive and internet connectivity is also another challenge. Therefore, Google wants to hire innovative engineers, computer scientists and others to solve exactly these problems.

Google also supports Africa's digital transformation. There are to be 800 million Internet users by 2030 - a third of whom will be under 35. Last year, Sundar Pichai also announced at the 'Google For Africa Event' that the company will invest one billion dollars over the next five years. Among other things, the money is to flow into projects that will provide fast, reliable and affordable Internet for the people on the continent. Small businesses and entrepreneurs will also be supported.
