The BWT Alpine F1 Team has achieved newfound speed and flexibility in the production of silicone and polyurethane parts with the help of 3D Systems' innovative eggshell molding solution.

Conventional methods for molding such parts were time-consuming, making them impractical for rapid Formula 1 development. However, with the eggshell molding process, a diverse range of high-quality parts can now be produced at record speed, enabling accelerated innovation and development.

BWT Alpine F1 utilizes 3D Systems' Figure 4 Modular 3D printer for multiple builds per day, catering to testing and on-car parts. The eggshell molding process offers versatility in material usage and the ability to address various applications with distinct properties. The workflow is straightforward, ensuring quick production and testing of parts.

The process has proven to be highly efficient and reliable, with the printed parts meeting the rigorous demands of Formula 1 racing. The rapid production of parts now allows for modifications to components that were previously overlooked due to time constraints in the fast-paced world of Formula 1.
