Japan's Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida, and OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman, held talks about a possible expansion of OpenAI to Japan. The government wants to make use of ChatGPT's AI technology to relieve the workload of its staff.
The chief cabinet secretary, Hirokazu Matsuno, was asked about the potential risks of OpenAI at a conference today. First, of course, they must be eliminated before the government adopts the technology, said Matsuno.
OpenAI is working to prevent data leaks. This is also in the interest of the Italian government, which last week imposed a short-term ban on ChatGPT in the country. Sam Altman and Fumio Kishida have already talked about the risks and how to address them.
