Meta is in trouble again, having to pay nearly half a billion US dollars in fines as the company is expected to revamp its data processing for personalized advertising.
Since 2018, Meta has assumed that users automatically co-accept privacy consent if they also agree to the corporation's terms. Therefore, Meta can freely serve personalized advertising and is therefore sure that the company has not violated any laws.
The EU has now initiated a procedure in which the corporation is being investigated for the data processing that enables the personalized advertising.
