The EU warns Meta that the company practices unfair trading conditions. This particularly affects the classified ads market and, accordingly, its competitors.
The European Commission believes that competitors who advertise on Meta's platforms are not treated fairly. Thus, Meta should exploit its market power and restrict the competition.
The Commission sees a fine of 10% of the group's total revenue in sight, provided that the EU can find sufficient evidence of a violation of the regulations.
