Meteor Lake will get a new socket

According to a report from VideoCardz, Intel has released some confidential information about its next products.

Intel's 14th generation will run on a new socket. As usual, Intel changes the socket after 2 generations. According to the documents available on VideoCardz, it will be called LGA1851.

The size of the socket is supposed to be the same as LGA1700. However, it is not yet clear why Intel needs a new socket for the Meteor Lake CPUs.

The memory will increase massively, though. The current Raptor Lake CPUs can support up to 5600 MHz DDR5 Ram. The Meteor Lake CPUs are supposed to support LPDDR5x-7500. The release date is still open. We assume that the CPUs will be introduced in 2024.
