Microsoft announced today that it has reached a deal with the Communications Workers of America (CWA). The deal is for labor neutrality between the union and Microsoft.
Five basic provisions have been agreed upon, which will go into effect after the deal is closed:
Microsoft remains neutral when employees are interested in joining a union.
Business disruption will be avoided by allowing affected employees to exercise their right to communicate between other employees and union representatives.
Employees will have access to a process to decide whether to join a union.
If desired, confidentiality and privacy can be preserved in the decision to join.
In the event of a disagreement between the CWA and Microsoft, the two sides will work together immediately to reach an agreement.
