Shapeways, a global leader in the digital manufacturing industry, announced the accelerated growth of its Enterprise Manufacturing Solutions business through the acquisition of two new Tier-1 supplier contracts supporting leading automotive and transportation manufacturers.

These contracts, which represent multi-year production programs, will generate over $2.8 million in annual revenue for the next seven years. This highlights Shapeways' commitment and proficiency in partnering with Tier-1 manufacturers to support OEM volume production.

John Tenbusch, Sales Director for the Automotive Vertical at Shapeways, stated, "Shapeways' readiness to embrace and invest in emerging technologies and processes, tailoring solutions to meet our customers' unique needs and requirements, sets the company apart. This commitment sends a clear signal to our partners that we're more than a supplier – we're a true partner sharing in their vision for the production of quality, high-performance parts."

Shapeways has consistently demonstrated the ability to merge enterprise-level manufacturing with advanced technologies like 3D printing and conformal cooling. Their recent acquisition of Linear AMS, a company specializing in traditional and additive manufacturing, further strengthens their enterprise manufacturing capabilities.

This strategic move supports global companies with supply chain challenges, provides lower cost manufacturing options with near-shoring possibilities, and offers unprecedented flexibility in production. These capabilities are attractive to manufacturers in automotive, medical, aerospace, and other industrial sectors.

The awarded contracts as Tier-1 suppliers in the automotive industry include the production of injection-molded cab trim components for a major commercial trucking OEM, and the manufacturing of interior paneling and trim for a series of medium-duty trucks for a global, industry-leading automotive OEM. Shapeways' emphasis on relationship building, responsiveness to customer needs, and expert visits to customer sites have been key factors in their success.

John Tenbusch added, "Building long-term relationships and showcasing proven expertise is at the heart of why our partners – both old and new – trust Shapeways. We're committed to delivering tailored solutions and are invested in their success."

These contracts affirm the trajectory and dedication of Shapeways' enterprise manufacturing solutions strategy. The company's ability to cultivate enduring relationships, coupled with industry expertise and a forward-thinking approach to manufacturing, has been essential in securing these significant contracts within the automotive sector.
