After several years of waiting, today is the big day for SpaceX. The first orbital test is taking place. The FAA has now removed all worries and has given the space company green light for the launch.
At 8 a.m. ET, the FAA cleared a window for launch. SpaceX says it will schedule the flight an hour later.
The entire test will take about 90 minutes. After the first 3 minutes, the booster will detach from the Starship and gently fall into the ocean near Hawaii. Starship itself is then scheduled to land back at SpaceX's headquarters in Boca Chica, Texas.
