The Chinese company TikTok is planning two more data centers in Europe with the hope of assuring the government that the Chinese Communist Party will not have access to the data. This is to avoid security and privacy concerns.

One of the data centers is being developed in Ireland with the help of a third-party provider and is nearing finalization, TikTok said. Data from the 125 million monthly European users announced today will then be transferred to the servers in Ireland by 2024.
