TikTok takes 70% of donations that should go to Syrian refugees

The BBC conducted an investigation, which revealed that TikTok keeps 70% of all donation revenue for itself.

Another scandal for TikTok; Image: MiddleEastMonitor

According to the BBC, TikTok keeps 70% of all donation revenue for itself. 30% of it only goes to the user. So it hits Syrian refugees in particular. They could generate just under $1000 per hour through donations. However, only 30% of it reaches them.

TikTok has already taken measures. Which ones, however, are unknown. The platform also refuses to make any statements about how much of the amount it finally takes in. However, this 70% can be very possible, as Kallmekris said in a Linus Tech Tips video that TikTok takes 70% of the amount each time.
