Susan Wojcicki is stepping down as CEO of Google, YouTube said in a statement. After 25 years at Google, she said it's time for her to start a new chapter in life and take care of her family, health and personal projects.
Neal Mohan, YouTube's chief product officer, will become YouTube's new CEO. He took a key role in projects including YouTube TV, YouTube Music, YouTube Premium and YouTube Shorts. Wojcicki will help Mohan with the transition of her position. In the long run, she will take on an advisory role for Google and Alphabet.
Sergey Brin and Larry Page, Google's two founders, expressed sincere thanks for her work at Google since 1998, when she rented out her garage to Brin and Page. In 2006, Google bought YouTube and in 2014 she became CEO of YouTube.
